Birrang Enterprise Celebrates HIPPY Success During NAIDOC Week's "50 Years of Deadly"
Birrang Enterprise is celebrating the positive impact of the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) in Orange since commencing delivery in January 2026.
HIPPY supports parents and carers as their child's first teacher, helping children develop the skills and confidence needed for a successful start to school while strengthening family connections, community involvement and learning at home.
Tim Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Birrang Enterprise, said the program reflects the spirit of this year's NAIDOC Week theme by investing in the next generation while honouring the legacy of those who have come before.
"50 Years of Deadly celebrates the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Through HIPPY, we are continuing that legacy by empowering parents and carers with the tools, confidence and support they need to help their children thrive. Every learning activity completed at home contributes to a stronger future for our young people and our community."
As an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, Birrang Enterprise is proud to work alongside local families, HIPPY team members and community partners to create strong foundations for lifelong learning and success.
As NAIDOC Week celebrates five decades of culture, leadership and achievement, Birrang Enterprise remains committed to strengthening families and supporting brighter futures for children across the Orange community.
