Programs

Birrang runs a range of programs primarily to improve the opportunities for Aboriginal people and their communities.   We work as a ‘go-to’ place to help with employment, training, business and community activities and needs.  If you have an idea to improve your or your communities lives, please give us a call.

Community Development Employment Project (CDEP)

This program helps Aboriginal job seekers gain the skills, training and capabilities needed to find employment through projects and activities that improve the economic and social well-being of communities.

The CDEP program provides services and projects through two streams:

  • Work Readiness - help job seekers to develop their skills, improve their chances of getting a job through training and work experience.
  • Community Development - supporting and developing Aboriginal communities through projects and activities identified as a priority by the community.

Indigenous Employment Programs (IEP)

The IEP supports activities that are needed by employers, Aboriginal people and their communities. These activities could help employers find long-term jobs for Aboriginal people, support Aboriginal people in training and to stay in jobs, help Aboriginal communities work together with industry and employers to bring about economic development or assist Aboriginal people to develop on-going businesses.
