The course will give workers the ability to carry out their work in a safe manner within the health care environment.

This initial four hour course can be followed by a two-four hour refresher course and will use a combination of classroom delivery and workplace training and/or simulated workplace situations.

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment: HLTHSE204B Follow Safe Manual Handling Practices.

This unit will allow the student to identify, assess and control manual handling risks as specified within OH&S Manual Handling Regulations and therefore provide the knowledge and skills to limit back injury.
