Birrang's mission is to support communities in the creation of job opportunities for unemployed Indigenous people that has a positive effect on their lives, families and our communities.
Birrang Enterprise Development Company Limited covers most of regional NSW with Head Office located at 9 Colliers Avenue, Orange NSW.
Birrang Development Enterprise Corporation Limited (Birrang) is incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001.Birrang was formed in 2003 and has been in continuous operation since its formation. Birrang was established as a regional based employment service provider offering employment and related services to the Indigenous people of the Binaal Billa region of New South Wales. The Membership of Birrang comprises the representatives of incorporated Aboriginal organisations in the Binaal Billa region.
"CDEP" stands for Community Development Employment Projects. CDEP is a national program funded by the Federal Government which assists eligible unemployed Indigenous job seekers with training, employment and work activity opportunities.
The area or region covered is the "Binaal Billa" region of NSW. This region covers approximately a third of NSW taking in major towns and cities such as Bourke,Parkes, Forbes, Lake Cargelligo, Dubbo, Bathurst, Orange, Lithgow and Coonabarabran.
"BIRRANG" is a Wiradjuri word meaning - HORIZON
